The Clarion Hotel is owned and managed by Castleview Mews Ltd which is part of PBN Holdings Ltd, a major UK property group.

A franchisee of Choice Hotels Europe, the hotel has been operating as a Clarion brand since 2006. Previously known as the Quality Hotel for a number of years, and prior to that the Fergus Inn, the current owners undertook extensive refurbishments to bring the hotel up to 4* Clarion standard. These refurbishments are continuing, with new Executive Bedrooms and a newly landscaped Car Park completed in late 2010, and a new Kitchen and Restaurant planned for Summer 2011.

Clarion Hotels are well known throughout the USA, Scandanavia and Ireland, however the Clarion Carrickfergus is the sole Clarion in the United Kingdom.
